Choosing your underwear for your wedding day is almost as important as choosing your dress. You want to feel like a princess from the inside out and although a certain lingerie set may look exactly like what you’d love to wear on your big day, it may not be the most comfortable. Little things like a care label or shoddy stitching may irritate after a while, so make sure you spend a good few hours wearing your bridal lingerie to make sure it will remain comfortable throughout your wedding day.
Your lingerie will also have to match your wedding dress, so if you’re wearing a strapless dress you’ll need a strapless bra or basque too. More mature brides tend to cover their shoulders and arms so one needn’t worry too much as to whether or not their bridal underwear has straps or not. The main concern is that your underwear cannot be seen beneath your dress, no matter what style it is.
White, ivory or cream are the most popular colours for bridal lingerie as these are the most popular colours for wedding dresses. However in recent years, getting married in pink, purple or other pastel colours is becoming more and more common. In such cases it is also common for the bride-to-be to look for bridal lingerie which perfectly matches the colour of their wedding dress, and some bridal designers can have wedding lingerie designed and made from exactly the same fabric as the dress. Whatever you choose, make sure it’s both comfortable and flattering.
